The aftermath of lonelygirl15

So now it’s out - lonelygirl15 on YouTube was a fake. She was a very popular girl on YouTube for quite a while. We even wrote about her on old Trendency back when we were on blogger. The clip we wrote about on Blogger had almost 600 000 views.
On tuesday The New York Times wrote a big tribute to the whole campaign on their blog, It turned out to be an actress and a couple of young filmmakers showing the world that they could fool us. Or was there another reason? The two filmmakers seem to be linked to Creative Artists Agency and according to The New York Times some of them were in it for the money and some for the art.
But has this been a positive outcome for the people behind the campaign? Well it´s too early to say, they sure have got lots of publicity but also there are a lot of people who believed in this girl and rooted for her. Many people are dissapointed. Like this woman on YouTube and many more.
The outcome in the long run? Well we will just have to wait and see…
